Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from a fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH 4-10). In preclinical research it is studied for interaction with BDNF expression and neurotrophic signalling in CNS models.
What is Semax?
Semax extends the half-life of the ACTH(4-10) fragment with a C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro extension, without corticotropic activity.
In animal models it is studied for its interaction with neurotrophic factors (BDNF, NGF) and monoaminergic systems.
