IGF-1 LR3 is an 83-amino-acid analogue of human Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 with an extended N-terminus and Arg³ substitution. In preclinical setups it is studied for extended half-life and reduced binding to IGFBPs.
What is IGF-1 LR3?
The LR3 modification gives a half-life of roughly 20–30 hours (versus ~10 minutes for wild-type IGF-1) and greatly reduced affinity for IGFBP-3.
In cell-culture models it is used to study IGF-1 receptor signalling, protein-synthesis pathways and cell proliferation.
